Preparing for the winter months ahead

Namaste Yogi,

I had to start this newsletter with HUGE thanks for all of your kind words of support and even cards after my last writing to you! Your support really does touch me. I feel so fortunate to have such lovely students.
We are well into Autumn now and the 1st change you notice is the beautiful array of colours with leaves starting to fade through the lack of energy they are receiving. I love this time of transition with the beautiful colours, cooler evenings where I can put my big warm jumpers on, light some candles and snuggle with my dog(if she lets me!) but for some this is a very difficult time of transition as we know the long dark winter looms ahead.
But we can learn from nature. Do you notice how there is a feeling that earth’s energy is truly gathering inward and preparing to ‘let go’ for the winter?
We can follow natures good example! We too can now relax and start to adapt to a slower, more gentle routine.  Autumn is a time to regenerate and replenish. Change our focus from activity and outward action to contemplation and inner reflection. In Yoga this is call ‘Pratyahara
Maybe ask yourself a few simple questions this Autumn?

1. How does the change in weather affect you?
2. How do the leaves falling from the trees affect your mood?
3. What are you learning from Autumn.
4. What strategies have you put in place to get you through challenges you may come across these next few months?

My next date at Wannock village hall is 19th November.  This class will be focusing on Autumn and how we can prepare for the upcoming winter months.
